April 30, 2013 - Spring Dinner
The Watson College of Education Alumni Chapter hosted their annual spring dinner on Tuesday, April 30 at the beautiful Wise Alumni House. The group enjoyed dinner followed by an interesting and educational program. Kelly Batts '97, '00, '10Ed.D., Elementary Instructional Coach for NC Department of Public Instruction presented on the topic of the implementation of Common Core standards.  Caroline Courter ’11M, was recognized as the Watson College of Education’s Distinguished Alumni of the year.    Three current WCE Students, Martha Boehm, Courtney Polland and Gallen Spencer, were announced as the winners of the WCE Alumni Chapter 2013-2014 Scholarship.   The attendees enjoyed the evening and look forward to the next WCE Alumni dinner in the fall.  View photos here >

Homecoming 2013
The Watson College of Education hosted a luncheon on Saturday, February 16 in celebration of UNCW Homecoming 2013. Children of the alumni attendees had a great time in the Education Lab while their parents enjoyed the learning robots demonstration. Guests enjoyed socializing with former classmates and faculty in the beautiful Education Building. View the photos >

2012 Spring Meeting
The Watson College of Education Alumni Chapter hosted their annual spring dinner meeting on Tuesday, April 24 at the beautiful Wise Alumni House.  Dawn Rowe McKernan ’07M, ’11Ed.D., was recognized as the Watson College of Education’s Distinguished Alumni of the year.   Dawn was chosen as the 2012 award recipient based on her achievements as an educator accompanied by her extensive community involvement.  Two current WCE Students, Martha Boehm and Claire Primrose, were announced as the winners of the WCE Alumni Chapter 2012-2013 Scholarship.   Another highlight of the evening was a special presentation from guest speaker, Dr. Cathy Barlow, UNCW Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, about providing a quality education during challenging economic times.  The attendees enjoyed the evening and look forward to the next WCE Alumni dinner in the fall.   View photos here >

2012 Homecoming Alumni Luncheon
In celebration of UNCW Homecoming 2012, on Saturday, February 4, the Watson College of Education (WCE ) and UNCW Alumni Association hosted a luncheon in the School of Education Building Atrium for WCE graduates. Alumni, faculty and current students had a great time talking about WCE future and past. Alumni and their children also enjoyed touring the beautiful School of Education building.
