Alumni Chapter Meeting with guest speaker Gordon Massengill

Please join the Watson School of Education Alumni Chapter for a light dinner at the Wise Alumni House.  Learn about the Alumni Chapter and hear from Gordon Massengill, creator of The Lyceum Academy.

Mr. Massengill created The Lyceum Academy in 1992 and it opened for students at South Johnston High School in 1994. In 1998 the second academy opened at New Hanover High School. The original academy at South Johnston High closed in 2000.   The Lyceum Academy is a rigorous, two-year experience often cited as the prime example of integrated education.  In 2009, NHHS was named one of the top 1,500 public schools in the US for the 5th consecutive year by Newsweek magazine.

Directions & Parking:

The Wise Alumni House is located at 1713 Market Street at the corner of 18th Street. The entrance to the house is located at the backside of the building adjacent to the parking lot on 18th Street.  Parking is available at the Wise Alumni House, however the spaces might fill up.  There is overflow parking available at the Temple Baptist Church which is located across 18th Street.

Temple Baptist Church Parking Directions:  From the Wise House parking lot - take a left onto 18th Street and then the first right on Princess Street.  The parking lot will be on your right. Walk across 18th Street to the Wise Alumni House.
