How does Coalitions 4 Success Work?

A novel approach to professional development will be used to support and instruct the coalition. Teams of six educators (4 core subject teachers, an additional teacher who works closely with LEP students, and school administrator) from the five regional high schools will participate in the program. The educators will be selected by their high school principal. A blended-delivery approach will be used by the instructors to include applied workshops, face-to-face sessions, school-based study group sessions, on-line discussions, support and instructional components and collaboration. The curriculum has been designed to provide the team opportunities to develop an in-depth understanding for the state of their schools and student needs, generate a strategic plan and vision for the implementation of the various components at their schools.
