Donor Opportunities
The Watson School of Education is on the move. We have many projects and initiatives underway. We have occupied the new School of Education building since February 2005.
The North Carolina Teachers Legacy Hall is housed in the atrium of the new building. This display honors educators by bringing teaching, learning, and history of P-12 education in North Carolina to the forefront.
There are ten niches: teaching tools, one-room school house, school bus, awards, teachers/principals of the year, historical timeline/current events, school desks, films that teach, and the battleship. The tenth niche will be reserved for our donors and will be books on a shelf with donor names.
The needs are great in the Watson School. We need to recruit students into education as high school seniors and from other professions. We need scholarship dollars to do this. Equipment and materials are needed to ensure our students have the appropriate science, reading, history, math, and assistive technology materials to prepare them for the P-12 classroom in our region.
