of Young Children (B-K)
This degree leads to North Carolina teacher licensure in birth through kindergarten.
- Special
Education (K-12)
Special education prepares teachers to serve children with disabilities from kindergarten through grade 12 in public schools and in various other service agencies. This degree leads to North Carolina teacher licensure in one of three areas of exceptionality: learning disabilities, mental retardation, and behavioral/emotional disabilities.

Licensure Programs
Students who have previously earned degrees (including lateral entry teachers)
may earn licensure in any of the above areas by completing required courses
as determined by an advisor.
