Middle Grades Undergraduate Program
The B.A. in Middle Level Education Program is for undergraduate students who would like to earn a North Carolina teaching license in the middle grades (6-9). Students in this program may select two areas of specialization (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies). Students complete as many as 60 hours of field experience before the practicum/internship semester. Students are encouraged to use the Curriculum Materials Center in the Watson College of Education to access resources during their field experiences, their internship semester, and their first years of teaching.
The Middle Level Education Program [EMG] classes are scheduled in the early evenings. Combined field experiences are arranged so that the students enrolled in methods courses during any one semester can complete all hours required without undue difficulty.
