Welcome to the Fast Track Program Website
The Watson School of Education has received special funding from the North Carolina legislature to offer fast track programs for students seeking to complete their degrees in a shorter length of time. We have exciting options available for entering freshmen, transfer students who have earned A.A. degrees, and licensure-only candidates.
Students interested in the Fast Track program will have designated advisors to ensure that they are enrolled in the correct courses in the required sequence. In addition, students will be in education courses taught by excellent faculty with class sizes averaging 25 students. They will also be in field experiences in public schools and agencies in the area.
Freshmen
Students will take an average of 17-18 hours each term and must plan to attend both sessions of summer school for two years. Students will still be able to qualify for financial aid packages and other scholarships for which they are eligible, but will accumulate less debt since they are completing the program in a shorter time.
Transfer Students
If you are a transfer student with an Associate’s degree (64 semester hours) completed prior to entering UNCW, you will be able to complete your B.A. degree in Elementary Education in eighteen months by attending summer school and taking an average of 17-18 hours each semester.
