The STAR (Scholarship Team in Action to Recruit) Scholarship Program provides monies to support mathematics and science majors and career changers who are seeking teacher certification and agree to teach in high need schools and districts in North Carolina.
The program gives up to $10,000 awards for prospective teachers during the completion of their last year(s) of coursework. This NSF supported program began in September 2009 and is funded for five years.
