12th Annual Screening of It's a Wonderful Life
The twelfth annual screening of It’s a Wonderful Life will be held in Kenan Auditorium, on Sunday, December 13, beginning at 2:00 pm. The event is free. It is a time of celebration and giving. With so many of our neighbors in need, please bring financial donations, new or gently use clothing, and toys.
This year, Chip Hackler’s beautiful short film “Two Hours in the Dark” will precede the main screening Hackler’s film depicts a pivotal moment in the life of legendary film director Frank Capra. Coming off of one of his greatest successes, Capra slipped into a dark period in his life as he searched for meaning and purpose both in his life and in his work.
As we also have done the past several years, we will present the “Clarence Award” to someone in our community who gives of their time and energy on a continual basis for those less fortunate. In the film It’s a Wonderful Life, Clarence is the angel who says to George, “Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”
