img Drew Levinson
CBS Reporter and Co-Producer of a new documentary entitled “Lasting Impressions”

Drew Levinson spent five months in Kuwait and Iraq, but came home not just to the United States, or where he lives in New York, but to Robeson County, North Carolina. There, a unique documentary story was born.
Only about 100 Jews lived in Robeson County. There are only five left. Yet over time they contributed to the social, cultural and economic well being of this small rural county. “Lasting Impressions” is not the story of Jews told just by Jews but also told by White Christians, Black Christians, and Native American Christians. Robeson County is a place where differences take a backseat to building a better life for everyone. Where else have you heard of Jews helping to build a church and Christians helping to build a Synagogue?
Drew Levinson has been a correspondent for CBS Newspath, the affiliate news service of CBS, since July 1997. Based in New York, he has covered major stories including Hurricane Katrina, the execution of Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh, and the 2004 Presidential elections. He was born in Lumberton, NC and is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a BA in peace, war and defense.
