After a successful career as a voice actor in radio in the 1940's & 50's (Tarzan), Lamont Johnson began directing live television in 1955, and soon was directing episodes for such shows as The Rifleman, Naked City, Have Gun Will Travel, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. Since then, he has directed over 35 movies, with a cast that reads like a Who's Who of Hollywood: Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Joanne Woodward, Hal Holbrook, Patty Duke, Charlton Heston, George C. Scott, Martin Sheen and others. Films include: My Sweet Charlie, That Certain Summer, Last American Hero, The Execution of Private Slovik, Fear on Trial, Crisis at Central High, One on One, and Gore Vidal's Lincoln. In 2000, Johnson was asked to recreate one of his best-known Twilight Zone Episodes, Five Characters in Search of an Exit, for the popular TV series, Felicity. Johnson has been nominated for the Emmy Award numerous times, and 3 times has been awarded the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement.
