Pat Hingle has worked as a professional actor for over fifty years, performing in live television, in theater and in hit movies, such as Batman (1990) and its sequels, where he plays Commissioner Gordon. Hingle made his film debut in On the Waterfront (1954), and has played many memorable roles, including the judge in Hang 'em High (1968), Sally Field's father in Norma Rae (1979) and Anjelica Huston's boss in The Grifters (1990). He also appeared in The Gauntlet (1977), Sudden Impact (1983), The Falcon and the Snowman (1985), and is a veteran of episodic television, where he's made dozens (if not hundreds) of appearances.
