Ritt Deitz is Executive Director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Professional French Masters Program and co-founder of Wis-Kino, the first U.S. chapter of KINO, an international digital filmmaking nonprofit based in Montreal. His French-language musical, LA COLONIE, about a Québécois invasion of Wisconsin, screened last fall at the Kabaret Wis-Kino in Madison and was featured at a KINO show in Paris on October 10, 2004, and excerpts of his other shorts were broadcast on French television in December (2004). Mr. Deitz also plays and records regionally with his acoustic-roots rock quartet and has produced three albums, with a fourth in the works. He lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with his wife and their three children.
