You may be eligible for Federal Veterans Education Benefits if you served in the U.S. Armed Forces on active duty, or if you are the dependent of a veteran whose death was service- related, or if you are the dependent of a veteran whose 100% disability is service related. - Military Tuition Assistance for Soldiers and Marines.
The Army and Marine Corps have decided to suspend Military Tuition Assistance for Soldiers and Marines. Air Force and Navy are considering the same action but have not implemented changes at this time. If you are already registered for courses for the current semester and have your Tuition Assistance approved, you will be unaffected by this change. As you move forward with your education please know there are other options available to you to help you pay for your costs.
These options include:
* You may be able to use your VA Benefits, including the Post 9/11 program, to help pay for your tuition and fees.
To apply for benefits, visit www.gibill.va.gov to complete an online application. If you have any questions regarding applying for VA benefits, please contact Shannon Miles at 910.962.3177 or at miless@uncw.edu.
* Another option is to apply for Federal Student Aid by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid. (FAFSA). This can be done online at www.FAFSA.gov. Please contact any of our financial aid counselors at 910.962.3177 or at finaid@uncw.edu with any questions.
* Utilizing the UNCW payment plan option. -
