Support guaranteed if you…

• Are admitted to UNC Wilmington as a full-time, North Carolina resident student
• Have a combined family income of less than 200% of the federal poverty level
• Earn a 2.5 GPA each year
• Complete the FAFSA each year.  Once the FAFSA is completed, students are automatically considered
• No special application is required
• Submit the required federal tax returns and other required information indicating that you meet the program’s criteria if requested

 

Opportunity to…

• Graduate in 4 years with a maximum of $4,000 in student loan debt
• Receive a $1,000 scholarship for the following year to offset a student loan with a GPA of 3.0 or better during the freshman, sophomore or junior year at UNC Wilmington
• Receive a federal work-study award for four years(Note: If a student declines a work-study award, these funds are converted to a Stafford Loan.)
• Receive federal and state grants
• Have NO parent loans

Student responsibilities include:

• Successful progress towards degree completion

• Maintain contact with financial aid counselors
• Submit all required documentation, including an IRS 1040 form

University responsibilities include:

• Process each students financial aid in a timely matter
• Provide adequate academic advising
• Provide needed classes required for graduation in four years
