This site is designed to give you, the student, the information you need to know about financial aid in a quick and concise manner. We recommend that you check out the student-specific pages on a regular basis. Make it a book mark on your web browser and use it as a reference whenever you need information.
This site, when combined with SEANET, can save you time standing in line at our office or waiting for a returned phone call from our counselors. Most common questions are answered here. If you do not find the answer, we have tried to provide you enough information to help determine what questions you want to ask.

If you would like to visit our office, please come anytime between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm. Your Financial Aid Counselor will help you. If your counselor is not available, there are other counselors available in the office who can answer your questions.

Certification Students: This page contains information on financial aid for Post-Baccalaureate Students enrolled in Certification Programs.

Continuing Students: So, you have been here a year or two and already receive financial aid? Great, this page reminds you of deadlines, keeps you informed of important steps you need to take and gives you some details about maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress. Everyone enrolled at the university who receives financial aid should refer to this site.

Education Abroad: Important information for UNCW students interested in traveling and studying abroad.

Extension Students: The University of North Carolina Wilmington Extension Site provides courses and degree programs to persons with an associate's degree or equivalent who wish to complete a four-year degree in Elementary Education, Criminology, Social Work, or Business Administration. The Onslow Extension also offers Master’s programs in Liberal Studies and Elementary Education. We have built this page specifically for those students participating in this program.

Graduate Students: Students working toward their master’s degree and/or Ph.D. may be eligible for financial aid as graduate students. This page provides financial aid information and loan limits for graduate students.

International Students: Students from other nations applying to the University of North Carolina Wilmington may be eligible for some types of financial aid. We have built this page specifically for those students who are part of the International Program.

Newly Admitted Students: Have you just been accepted to UNCW? If so, congratulations. Have you been here at the college but never received financial aid? If so, then we welcome you. We have provided this page for those who are just starting at the university or who may have never before had financial aid.

Non-Degree: Per federal regulations, non-degree students are usually not eligible for federal financial aid. To be eligible, students must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program, pursuing teacher licensure, or taking classes required for admission to a graduate program at UNCW. Students taking classes required for admission to a graduate program at UNCW are considered graduate certification students and may be eligible for federal aid at undergraduate levels, for one twelve-month period.
