Honors Buddy Coordinator
Honors Buddy Coordinator: The Honors Buddy Coordinator is an
upper-level honors scholar who organizes the honors buddies for the fall
semester and serves as a role model for freshman honors scholars. The Honors Buddy Coordinator should have been
an honors buddy before.
The
responsibilities of the Honors House Buddy Coordinator:

Organizing the application process for honors big buddies in the
spring;
·
Interviewing and selecting the buddies;
·
Coordinating the new freshmen with buddies;
·
Being liaison with the honors office related to buddies and new
freshmen;
·
Being an advocate for the Honors Scholars Program and the students in
the program;
·
Providing general advice to the new honors students each fall and
spring semester;
·
Modeling community bonding among the honors scholars by being active in
the Honors Scholars Program and the Honors Scholars Association;
·
Being aware of campus events and encouraging freshmen to become
involved on campus;
·
Serving as a representative on the Student Honors Advisory Council;
·
Assisting with move-in;
·
Facilitating at least one social experience during orientation;
·
Facilitating at least one major buddy event during each month of the
fall semester;
·
Providing a report on buddy activities for each semester (to Honors).
Going on the Fall Break Lyceum trip is also encouraged. We also encourage you to go to national, state, and regional honors conferences during the year (Honors picks up the tab). Honors Buddy Coordinators must be in good standing in the Honors Scholars Program, and the University. The Honors Buddy Coordinator is typically paid 5 hours a week for buddy responsibilities for the Fall semester, and also for hours worked over the summer.
