State of North Carolina Special Empahsis Project

The State of North Carolina began the Special Emphasis Project three years ago, which was designed to ensure a working environment in which employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner. The first Special Emphasis Advisory Project Committee was established to design initiatives to address the trends for African-American males.
In April 2004, Office of State Personnel (OSP) began the process to address the next demographic group of the SEP, which will focus on female employees. A step in this process will be to conduct focus groups for female employees and their supervisors. UNCW has been selected to participate in this process. You may receive a letter at home requesting your participation in the project.
