Textbook Scholarship Program
The Textbook Scholarship Program allows eligible UNCW employees to borrow required textbook(s) from the UNCW Bookstore for undergraduate or graduate classes taken by tuition benefit or fee waiver at UNCW. The program allows the use of required textbook(s) for two courses per academic year, but it is not available for the summer terms. The benefit is for used textbooks – new textbooks are provided only if used textbooks are not available.
To participate in the Textbook Scholarship Program, employees must apply by completing and submitting the following documents to the Auxiliary Services front desk (located in Warwick Center):
1.) A completed Textbook Scholarship Application (application is also available at Auxiliary Services)
2.) A completed copy of an approved Application for Tuition Waiver or Benefit and Fee Waiver (HR 4.10)
3.) A copy of your class schedule.
Return the above documents to Auxiliary Services either in person, or by campus mail to campus mailbox 5914, Attention: Faculty/Staff Scholarships.
(Please be aware that the mail service will not be in operation while the campus is closed.)
All documents must be submitted to Auxiliary Services no later than 10 days prior to classes starting, in order to receive the books 7 days prior to classes starting.
To receive your textbooks, you may stop by the bookstore to select the required textbooks at any time. The funds for the textbooks will be put onto an account for you at the bookstore. Once you have selected your textbooks:
1.) Let the cashier know that you have a Faculty/Staff textbook scholarship – you must bring your ID card.
2.) Complete the Textbook Check-Out Form and email it to FAStextbooks@uncw.edu
To return your textbooks, you will need to complete the Textbook Check-In Form. Place this form inside one of your books and return them in the drop box on the first floor of the bookstore. If the books are not returned by the end of finals, you will be charged the price of the book(s).
