Macintosh Support - Uploading Web Pages

Connecting to UNCW's Servers with a Macintosh

Note: You must have a UNCW domain account to access the server. If you do not have an account, call the Technology Assistance Center at x4357 to have one set up. Once you have an account, your computer will need to be configured to access the server. It is recommended you contact the Technology Assistance Center at x4357 for this.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
You must first be connected to the UNCW Network.  If you are on campus then you are already connected.  If you are off-campus, then you will need to have a VPN connection, therefore connecting you to our network.  If you need help setting this up, CLICK HERE for instructions.

1) Click the Go --> Connect to Server menu.

Depending on what server you wish to connect to,
you will need to type in one of the following addresses
into the "Address" box.

UNCW's "Web" Server
smb://uncwweb.uncw.edu

UNCW's "People" Server
smb://people.uncw.edu

2) Once you have typed in the appropriate address, click Connect.

3) If you are prompted with the following dialog box enter in the appropriate information, then click OK:

4) Make sure that "www-docs" is selected, then click OK.

5) Once you are connected, the following icon will appear on your desktop.
