About Lumina Theater

Lumina Theater offers a professional movie theater experience to the UNCW community. This state-of-the-art film venue opened in August of 2006 with 358 stadium seats, a 16' x 30' screen, Dolby Digital surround sound, 35mm capabilities and a digital projection system. Lumina Theater screens blockbusters, independents, cult classics, art films, international films and student films throughout the academic year, four or more days a week, except during University holidays, breaks and summer sessions.

Location & Parking

Lumina Theater is located on the first floor of the Fisher Student Center on the UNCW campus. Campus Map

Beginning the fall semester, Lot M, located at Riegel Road and Price Drive will officially become a visitor parking lot. The parking lot will be available for use by campus visitors and people attending campus events and occasionally by students, faculty and staff when they are displaced by large campus events. Additionally, the parking booth located at the entrance of the parking lot will serve as an information center for people who have general questions or would like to learn more about the UNCW campus.

Concessions

Sharky's Game Room offers a wide array of movie concessions, include soda, popcorn, movie candy, and much more. We take cash, Visa and MasterCard.

Programming Information

Lumina Theater is programmed by academic departments, campus offices and studenet organizations. In addition to showing popular films that appeal to the UNCW student body, Lumina Theater is dedicated to showcasing films which may not otherwise reach the Wilmington and campus communities. ACE Films Commmittee

The ACE Films Committee programs the Friday Blockbuster Movie Series, the Saturday Spotlight Film Series and various special events in Lumina Theater. UNCW students select and promote these movies. Lumina Theater Advisory Committee
