Cello Festival
September 13-14th, 2013
The UNCW Department of Music and cello professor Chris Johns will host its second annual Cello Festival September 13-14th, 2013. The event will be held at the Cultural Arts Building on the beautiful campus of UNC-Wilmington. The guest artist, Elliott Cheney, is Associate Professor of Cello at The University of Utah.Registration Fee is $25. Register online

The schedule of events: (subject to change)
FRIDAY 9/13
- 1 - 3 PM Advanced Ensemble Reading Session
- 3 PM Masterclass (open to public)
- 7:30 PM Recital featuring the UNCW Cello Studio and friends. Program is TBD.
- Recital admission included with registration. $5 for general admission, free to UNCW students
SATURDAY 9/14
- 8 - 9 AM Registration
- 9 – 5:30 PM Cello Ensemble Activities (will include breaks, lunch is on your own)
- High School All-State Clinic (Time is TBD), led by Chris Johns
- Dinner break (on your own)
- 7:30 PM Cello Ensemble Concert (FREE - Open to Public)
Cello Ensemble seating will be arranged according to the listed ability levels below:
- Cello I: Thumb Position, Tenor and Treble Cle
- Cello II: Tenor Clef and up to 7th position
- Cello III: Bass Clef and up to 4th position
- Cello IV: Bass Clef and up to 2nd position
