Student Meal Plans

UNCW offers a great variety of meal plans to choose from -- all tailored to fit students’ busy schedules. Whether you are eating on campus several times a week, or just grabbing the occasional bite, a meal plan can save you time and money. With a meal plan:

  • There’s no need to carry cash or a credit card; it’s all on your UNCW One Card.

Signing Up for Student Meal Plans

Students must register for classes prior to signing up for a meal plan.  The day after you register for classes, you may sign up for your meal plan. The meal plan cost is placed on your student account, so there is no need to pay when you sign-up!

  • To sign up for your meal plan, click on the graphic/link below:

  • You will be at MySeaport. Log in with your UNCW email address and password.
  • Click on the Student Services tab.
  • On the left menu under Services, click on Student Meal Plan Application.
  • In the Student Meal Plan Application, click Choose Plan and proceed through the selection process.
  • After a plan is purchased, it will be available on your UNCW One Card.
  • You can then check your meal plan balance throughout the semester by logging in to the Student Meal Plan Application or logging in to the UNCW One Card Online Management Center.

Traditional Housing Students: Galloway, Belk, Graham, Hewlett, Schwartz, Cornerstone Hall, International House, Honors Hall, University Apartments or University Suites:

  • All traditional housing students are required to have either the Unlimited Plan, 14 Plus, 10 Plus, or Block 140 meal plans. 
  • If you do not purchase your Fall 2014 meal plan by July 14, 2014, and you reside in the traditional housing above, you will be assigned the 14 Plus plan.     
  • If you want to change from your defaulted plan for Fall 2014, changes conclude 5 business days from move-in weekend (Traditional Housing Students may change their meal plan to one of the four required plans only).

Non-Traditional Housing (Seahawk Village, Seahawk Landing, Seahawk Crossing) and students who live off campus:

  • Residents of Seahawk Landing, Seahawk Village or Seahawk Crossing and students who live off campus are not required to purchase a meal plan but may select any available meal plan.

Student Meal Plan Options for Fall/Spring Semesters

  • Students may choose from a variety of meal plans available, depending on their housing assignment.
  • Effective Jan 1, 2014 Meal Plans and campus food transactions will be subject to N.C. Sales Tax. The sales price of student meal plans have been adjusted in order to accommodate the 7% sales tax due. The Meal Swipe portion will be taxed upon meal plan purchase, and Food Dollars will be taxed as they are used. Additional Meal Plan Tax information.
  • Your fall semester meal plan will automatically be assigned to the spring semester.
  • NO REFUNDS will be issued for unused meal plans at the end of the semester.

Fall 2014 Meal Plans and Costs

Meal Swipes

Meal swipes can be used at the following locations:

  • Wagoner Hall - can be used for all-you-care-to-eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Wag Out - can be used for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night at this take-out location.
  • Dub's Cafe - can be used for all-you-care-to-eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Hawk's Nest - can be used from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Monday-Friday at Opa!, Jole Mole, Varsity Grill and The Wedge - You can receive a combo at all of these locations.
  • The Landing - can be used all day for lunch and dinner at this sandwich/salad location.

Exception: For the Unlimited Lunch plus $250 Plan, unlimited meal swipes are allowed only Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Dub's Cafe, Wagoner Hall, Wag Out, and The Landing.

Meal Swipes can be added to any Meal Plan except the Unlimited, 14 Plus, and 10 Plus plans. You can add-on 10 Meals for $89 + tax.

Food Dollars Account

  • Food Dollars may be used at any Campus Dining location on campus including vending machines and food trucks.
  • Food Dollars work the same as a debit card. Once your UNCW One Card is swiped at the register, the payment amount is automatically deducted from your Food Dollars account.
  • Food Dollars can be added at any time online through mySeaport in any increment with a minimum purchase of $50.
  • Food Dollars will roll from the Summer Sessions, to the Fall Semester, to the Spring Semester, provided the student is signed-up for a meal plan in the following or roll-to semester. Any unused Food Dollars at the end of the Spring Semester are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to the new academic year or Summer Sessions.
    • The deadline for Spring 2014 Food Dollars usage is midnight on May 13, 2014.

Student Meal Plans for Summer I and II

If you are registered for class for Summer Session I or II, we have meal plans that can fit your needs. The summer meal plan options are

  • $275 Food Dollars
  • $350 Food Dollars.

Just as Food Dollars roll over from fall to spring, they also roll over from Summer I to Summer II. Also, if you purchase a Fall semester meal plan, your unused Food Dollars roll from your Summer I or Summer II meal plan to the following Fall semester. Therefore, please give careful consideration to the amount of food dollars you plan on using.

  • Students living in Traditional Housing may change their meal plan to any of the four required Traditional Housing Meal Plan options, and Students living in Non-Traditional Housing or off-campus may change to any meal plan offered an unlimited number of times from their initial purchase until the end of the meal plan change period.
  • After the change period end date, meal plan purchases for weekly reset meal plans (Unlimited, 14 plus $225, 10 plus $300, Unlimited Lunch) will be processed manually to provide a discounted price for unused meals.

      To change your fall or spring meal plan, follow the steps below:

  • Log on to MySeaport at http://myseaport.uncw.edu
  • Click on the Student Services tab
  • On the left menu under Services, click on Student Meal Plan Application.
  • In the Student Meal Plan Application, click Change Plan and proceed through the change selection process.

  • NOTE: You may use the Meal Plan Adjustment form ONLY if unable to process your meal plan change through My Seaport.

      Summer Meal Plans

  • Students are NOT allowed to change their summer meal plan.

Meal Plan Cancellations

  • Meal plan cancellations are allowed ONLY if:
    • the student has withdrawn from the university, OR
    • official release from the on-campus housing contract has been granted.
       (Please note:  Meal plans are not automatically cancelled when a resident student is released from the on-campus housing contract.  Therefore, any resident student who is released from their on-campus housing contract AND who no longer wishes to have a meal plan must initiate a request to cancel their meal plan.  Otherwise, the meal plan account will still be active and the student will be responsible for payment of the meal plan.)
  • See the table below for the dates when you may cancel your meal plan.

    NOTE: (You may use the Meal Plan Adjustment form ONLY if unable to process your meal plan adjustment through My Seaport.)
  • NO REFUNDS will be issued for unused meal plans at the end of the semester.


Meal Plan Changes vs. Meal Plan Cancellations

  • You may change your fall or spring meal plan to a different meal plan, depending on your housing assignment, an unlimited number of times from the date of your initial purchase until the end of the change period (which will be 5 business days from the date of on-campus move-in weekend.)
  • IMPORANT: Meal plan cancellations are different from meal plan changes. If you cancel your meal plan and we approve it, you will have to come in the office to purchase a NEW meal plan as the meal plan application will not allow you make a meal plan purchase.
