Social & Behavioral Sciences Building Construction: Lot R1 Closing November 3

The next renovation phase will start November 3 on the Social and Behavioral Sciences building. This phase necessitates the use of large trucks and heavy construction equipment that need to be stored in lot R1 requiring it to close.

Lot R2 will remain open and accessible throughout the construction phase. After reviewing current usage patterns and parking availability, we are recommending faculty and staff who will be displaced to consider parking in the following gated lots: lot G, lot Q, or lot A (see map). We will also be allowing some faculty and staff temporary Parking permit upgrades to the Parking deck if requested. Due to limited spaces available, please email parking@uncw.edu as soon as possible to inquire about temporary pricing and request your space in the parking deck.

Lot R1 will remain open until construction begins. Once renovations begin on November 3, lot R1 will not be accessible and all vehicles should be moved prior to the lot closure. Faculty and staff using lot R2 during this time should exercise caution due to heavy construction traffic.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parking & Transportation Office at 910-962-3178 or parking@uncw.edu.
