RE: Burglary Attempts
Two attempted burglaries occurred on the UNCW campus in the early morning hours of October 25 � one through an unlocked window on the first floor of Belk Hall and another at Einstein�s Bros. Bagels in the Fisher Student Center.
At this time, it is not known if the two burglaries are related. One suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s to early-30s, approximately 6� tall with blond hair.
If you have seen this suspect or have any information about either attempted burglary, contact UNCW Police at 910-962-2222. Information may be given anonymously by calling 910.962.TIPS or online at www.uncw.edu/police.
In an emergency, call 911 from any phone, or use the emergency call boxes on campus. UNCW Police would also like to remind the campus community of these basic safety tips:
- Always lock the door to your house, apartment, room, or vehicle no matter how long you plan to be away.
- Lock windows in residences and offices, especially in first floor locations.
- When you leave a campus building having automatically locking doors, make sure the door shuts completely so the lock is engaged before walking away.
