AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is the national service program designed specifically to fight poverty and has been on the front lines in the fight against poverty in America for more than 40 years. VISTA members commit to serve full-time for a year, working to build organizational capacity. VISTA members generally do not provide direct services, such as tutoring children or building homes. Instead, they focus their efforts on building the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of organizations that help to alleviate poverty.
The QENO AmeriCorps VISTA project specifically focuses on building capacity in the areas of volunteer management, community outreach and succession planning. Previous VISTAs have created things such as: volunteer management plans, social media plans, community outreach plans, marketing materials and templates, volunteer orientation manuals, volunteer training curriculum and much more.
