UNCW instructors enter final course grades through the Final Grades page in SeaNet during the grading period at the end of each term. A grade of incomplete requires the approval of the department chair and must be assigned using the Assignment of Incomplete Grade form, as described below. Grades entered through SeaNet are "rolled" to student transcripts every evening. Also, once grades are rolled to transcripts and the grading deadline has passed, grade conversions cannot be made through SeaNet Final Grades page. Grade conversions must be done through the Conversion of Grade form, as described below. If an instructor decides to convert a grade before the grading deadline has passes, that instructor can submit a request for a grade conversion in an email to registrar@uncw.edu directly from the instructor's UNCW email address. The email request must include the following information:
- Student name
- Student ID number
- Course subject (e.g., PSY)
- Course number (e.g., 201)
- Section number (e.g., 002)
- Previous grade (e.g., B+)
- New grade (e.g., A-)
- Reason for grade conversion (e.g., Calculation error)

Requests that are submitted without all of the above information will be returned and not processed. This opportunity to convert a grade by email will be strictly limited to the grading period at the end of each term. Requests that are received after 2:00 PM on the grading deadline will be returned and not processed. Requests from non-UNCW email addresses and requests with incomplete course or student information will be returned and not processed.

Assignment of Incomplete Grade – The assignment of an incomplete, as well as the required department chair approval, can be done online. The course instructor should begin the process by opening the Assignment of Incomplete Grade form.
Conversion of Incomplete – The conversion of an incomplete to a final grade, as well as the required department chair approval, can be done online. The course instructor should begin the process by opening the Conversion of Incomplete form.
Conversion of Grade – The conversion from one grade to another requires the approvals of the department chair and the appropriate dean. The course instructor should begin the process by opening, completing, and printing the Report of Conversion of Grade form.
