Over twenty-five years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical care nursing, public health nursing, quality assurance, and nursing management.
In addition, actively involved in local, state, and national politics. Elected to two four-year terms (1999-2007) as Champaign City Councilmember at-large. Served as the Champaign City Council representative to the Head Start Policy Council, 2002-2005 and to the Illinois Municipal League Legislative Committee from 2003-2007.
