Professional History
Dr. Glenn, the immediate past Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (SON), retired June 30, 2009. She provided 8 years as the administrative leader responsible for all aspects of the academic programs and the overall development of the academic environment of the UNCW School of Nursing. Her career in Nursing spans 40 years with 33 years in Higher Education.
Dr. Glenn was recommended and awarded Emeritus status upon retirement. She is engaged in consultation in Nursing Education and Administration. Dr. Glenn also continues to serve the profession as a member of the Executive Committee of the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice (NACNEP); Board of Director for District 22 of the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA); and as a member of Nu Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
Dr. Glenn had an extensive history in teaching, leadership and management, and scholarship in Nursing Education and Administration in universities across the United States. Her global experiences in higher education included instruction, curriculum consultation, and presentations in Peru, Japan, England, and South Africa. Dr. Glenn remains committed to excellence in Nursing Education.
