Community Service Opportunities

"Everyone can be great because anyone can serve.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

Staff Senate encourages it's members along with all UNCW employees to consider volunteering to participate and log hours spent in community service efforts for the purpose of unification and representation of UNCW staff which is directly connected to our mission statement.

Periodically this website will be updated with possible opportunites for volunteering/community service. These are not the only options nor does the Staff Council recommend any one option. It is up to each employee to explore options and find the opportunity that works best for them.

Area Opportunities

Community Boys and Girls Club

On Friday February 7th, February 21, March 28th, and April 25th from 2:30-5pm we will be working with children ages 6-9, in teams to lead games for the kids at the Community Boys and Girls Club. Please wear appropriate clothing like sneakers, comfortable pants and a t-shirt (preferably a teal t-shirt so we can be identified as UNCW volunteers!). Email Vanessa Kopp at vak1804@uncw.edu if you are interested in volunteering. We will meet on the side of the Fisher Student Center facing DePaolo Hall on Friday at 2:30pm. Bring a SMILE and get excited!
