Test of Essential Academic Skill (TEAS)

 

About TEAS

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) measures basic essential skills in the academic content area of reading, mathematics, science, English and language usage. The test is intended for use primarily with adult nursing program applicants. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.

Test Time: approximately 3.5 hours. Also, scratch paper and pencils are provided to each tester.

Valid ID Form Required: driver's license, or passport, or military ID must be presented at the time of testing.

TEAS Testing Dates

February 10, 2013 through June 21, 2013. Only ONE TEAS test may be taken during this period.

Individual Testing

Cost: $80. Offered Monday through Friday at 8:30am and 1:00pm.

Location: University Testing Services, Depaolo Hall, Room 1021.

Note: the last day to register for the TEAS individual test is June 14, 2013

Group Testing:

Cost: $60. Offered--April 19, 2013 at 8:00am and May 6, 2013 at 8:00am and 1:00pm.

Location: UNC Wilmington School of Nursing, Room 2061.

Note: the last day to register for the TEAS group test is April 30, 2013. However, the spaces available for group testing may be filled prior to April 30, 2013. Once the group testing spots are filled, examinees must register for individual testing on the available dates indicated above.

How to Register

On-Campus Testing. call University Testing Services at 910-962-7444. Note: payment to UNCW is due when you register for the test. Advance appointments are strongly recommended.

Off-Campus Testing. TEAS testing is available at certain locations throughout the U.S. Please visit ATI Testing or call 800-667-7531. At the ATI website scroll to the lower right-hand corner of the page and select "Register for TEAS with PSI".

IMPORTANT: after completing the off-campus TEAS test contact ATI to have your scores sent to the UNC Wilmington School of Nursing.

Payment Methods, Refunds, and Reschedule Policy

The TEAS cost--$80 (individual) or $60 (group)-- is payable when making the appointment. Use a credit card to pay via telephone. Checks, money orders, cash or credit cards are accepted if making the appointment in person. No refunds will be given. Reschedule your appointment by calling University Testing Services at 910-962-7444 at least one business day in advance. Rescheduling is not permitted on the day of the test.
