The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI)
The ULC utilizes the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) as a tool to help students identify study skills strengths and areas in need of attention.
In order to become familiar with the LASSI inventory, early in the semester the Study Skills Consultant should complete the inventory. The front desk staff will assist with the registration process.
Below are links to LASSI information:
The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) is a research-backed, nationally normed tool that assesses a student's current application of ten specific items associated with skill, will, and self-regulation in the college environment:
- information processing
- selecting main ideas
- study aids
- test strategies
- time management
UNCW students may take the LASSI as part of a freshman seminar course or individually with a ULC Study Skills Consultant. The student and consultant can use the LASSI results to discuss development of study skills. More information about LASSI can be found at the publisher's website.
Appointments to take the LASSI may be made at the ULC office in Westside Hall.
