Literacy Live

Give your child the joy of reading with our dramatic play program, Literacy Live. Children (ages 4-7) develop reading comprehension skills while acting out stories using simple costumes, sets and props. The stories are selected from critically reviewed literature featuring specific themes. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations, personal experiences and creativity to recreate the stories and demonstrate comprehension. The themes are also integrated into other fun activities such as science, math, art and music. We offer Saturday programs and summer camps.

Fall 2014 Saturday Programs

All programs are free but registration is required. Children (ages 4-7) must be accompanied by an adult. Programs will be held in the Education Building from 1:00-3:00 pm.

Saturday, October 25: Please join us for Literacy Live From the Snake Pit. Even if you are scared of snakes, you will want to join us for this fun-filled event! We will create snake skins and learn about the vital role snakes play in our ecosystem. In addition, we'll look at different camouflage and defense mechanisms used by these wonderful creatures.
