I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Florida and graduate degrees from the University of Georgia. I have held positions as clinical psychologist at a large teaching psychiatric hospital and as professor at a medical school and a department of psychology. I am currently Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and maintain a private practice limited to clinical neuropsychology (ranging from clinical in and outpatient service to forensic assessments including over 40 death penalty cases). I have authored six books and over 150 scientific and professional articles (English, Spanish and Russian). In addition, I am editor of the quarterly scientific journal, Neuropsychology Review, as well as a book series in clinical Neuropsychology (33 books). I have lectured in a over a dozen foreign countries and have supervised fellows or visiting scientists from Cuba, Russia, South Africa, and Spain. I am Past-President of the North Carolina Psychological Association, North Carolina Psychological Foundation, the National Academy of Neuropsychology and (as well as two term Council of Representative) for the Division of Clinical Neuropsychology of the American Psychological Association. I have chaired several APA Boards and Committees ranging from the Board of Convention Affairs to the Committee for Undergraduate Education as well as serving on others including the Policy and Planning Board and the Committee for Psychological Assessment. I am APA’s representative to the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology panel and the only psychologist to have served on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid ‘s Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee. | ||
